Diversity

The program avoids any actions that would restrict admission on grounds that are irrelevant to successful completion of the internship. Moreover, the Department of Clinical and Health Psychology has an active minority recruitment program for prospective interns. Applications for the internship program from qualified minority persons are encouraged and invited. Minority individuals who wish to be considered under this recruitment program are encouraged to indicate their interest on the internship application form.

  • The weekly internship meeting is dedicated to specifically to diversity discussions once a month.  Interested interns are encouraged to participate in designing the topics for these discussions.  The monthly discussions are in addition to a 4 hour diversity workshop, also part of the intern meetings
  • Education and Advocacy colloquium and committee – Interns attend monthly E&A colloquiums and are encouraged to join the E&A committee that plans the colloquiums and community service projects.
  • Free Therapy Night is a student-run free clinic for community members in Gainesville as part of the College of Medicine Equal Access Clinic.  You will find more information about FTN under specialty clinics.  Interns can see short term cases through FTN as part of their overall training.
  • Interns can also join the HEARD Taskforce (Health Equity, Anti-Racism and Diversity), aimed at increasing equity in all of the CHP department missions.
